Maidstone Chess Club organised several congresses (principally by Lyndon Gurr, Chris Howell and Nicholas Mackett) between 1990 and 1999 as summarised below:
· 1st 12-14 October 1990 @ Maidstone Grammar School, consisting of:
Open, Major (U160), Minor (U125) and Junior (under 11) – 6 rounds.

Open 1st= Chris Cooley and Ian Watson (4½ points)
Major 5th= Jeffrey Titmas (4 points)
Minor 5th= Peter Underwood (4 points)
· 2nd 4-6 October 1991 @ Maidstone Grammar School, consisting of:
Open, Major (U160), Minor (U125) and Junior (under 11) – 6 rounds.
